New Regulation is Proposed on Income Paid on Interest-Bearing Loans from Individuals
1 / 1

The executive body proposes a new regulation in the Tax Code against various tax planning schemes. The problem is, in particular, the planning of interest-bearing loans from individuals. There is a 10% rate for income tax, and 18% for profit tax. It allows an individual to use from 18% paying 10%. It is proposed to set general income tax rates.

According to the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Rustam Badasyan, who presented the issue in the second reading at April 6 sitting of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, borrowing between the organization and an individual will not be prohibited in any way. Attempts are made to ensure equality in terms of interest and not to allow to provide interest-bearing loans exclusively for tax planning.

The Armenia Faction submitted two proposals in the first to the second reading. One of the proposals was partially accepted and the other was not, as the Armenia Faction removed that proposal from the agenda taking into account the counter-arguments of the Government.

The legislative package was endorsed.
