It is Proposed to Clarify Process of Electing Members of Autonomous Bodies
1 / 2

The current Constitutional Law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly defines the procedure for appointing members of the autonomous bodies, in particular, the appointment of the members of the autonomous bodies is envisaged only in case when the posts of the members of the autonomous bodies are vacant.

The regulation may lead to a situation where the autonomous body has a problem with the power of sitting and decision-making after the vacancy of the post of a member of an autonomous body until the election of a new member. Moreover, in such conditions the situation may become more complicated, if the members of the autonomous body are on vacation, on a business trip, temporarily disabled or absent for another reason at the same time.

So, the executive body proposes to make amendments and addenda to the Constitutional Law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, according to which, the procedure for appointing a new member to that position is clarified before the end of the term of office of a member of an autonomous body. The autonomous bodies inform the National Assembly that the term of office of a member of the Committee expires after the certain period of time, and the National Assembly informs the relevant bodies that they should nominate within a certain period of time.

The Chairperson of the Competition Protection Commission Gegham Gevorgyan presented the main report.

The RA NA deputy Lilit Minasyan informed about the endorsement of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.
