Tigran Markosyan Nominated for Position of Member of Competition Protection Commission

It can be said that the activity of the Commission has been put on new qualitative bases from the legislative point of view, and the current activity has received a new quality, and the public is quite aware, as the number of programs is already quite large. This proves that the people know where to apply. The candidate Tigran Markosyan emphasized about it during the debate of the issue of the election of a member of the Competition Protection Commission.

In his speech, the candidate referred to the main issues of the Competition Protection Commission, which needed to be resolved when he was nominated for the position of a member of the Commission. Tigran Markosyan presented the work done by the Commission to resolve those main issues, referred to the directions of his activities, as well as the work done by the Commission and things to do. According to him, the activity of the Commission has significantly improved, the statistical data are the proof of that. In terms of unfair competition, he noted that in 2018, there were only 35 proceedings in terms of violations, in 2019 – 57, in 2020 – 46, in 2021 – 79, and in 2022, the number reached 50. By the end of the year, that number will reach 150, if it continues like this. “This is an unprecedented growth,” Tigran Markosyan stated.

The Minister of Justice Karen Andreasyan presented the candidate’s biography and the work experience. Tigran Markosyan is a lawyer by profession, a member of the Chamber of Advocates, a member of the Competition Protection Commission of the Republic of Armenia from 2019 till today. The candidate worked in the Ministries of Justice and Finance, in the Ardshinbank CJSC, holding responsible posts. He gives lectures at YSU, is the author of scientific articles.
