Opportunity to Receive Free Legal Assistance to Become More Accessible

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan informed that the legislative package also expands the powers of the Board of the Chamber of Advocates. The opportunity to receive free legal assistance will become more accessible: the range of beneficiaries of public protection is expanded. The procedure for training and qualification of advocates will also be revised.

According to the legislative initiative on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law on Advocacy and on Making Addendum to the RA Criminal Code, the Government proposes to review the internal management structure of the Chamber of Advocates.

On October 3, the issue was debated in the second reading at the extraordinary sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs.

According to the Deputy Minister of Justice, after the adoption in the first reading, the Government presented editorial proposals.

The package of draft laws was endorsed.
