Event Titled “Armenia Day” Held in City of Magdeburg, Germany

An event titled Armenia Day was held in the city of Magdeburg on the initiative of the Landtag of the state of Saxony-Anhalt of the Federal Republic of Germany on November 17, during which speeches were made by the President of the Landtag of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, Doctor Gunnar Schellenberger, the Deputy Prime Minister of the state Armin Willingmann, the Head of the Friendship Group Armenia-Germany of the RA National Assembly Vladimir Vardanyan and the Deputy Minister of the RA ESCS Arayik Khzmalyan. Performances of the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia were played during the evening.

During the event, the importance of the formation effective relations between the RA Parliament and the Landtag of the state of Saxony-Anhalt was emphasized, as well as the historical, cultural and economic ties between the state of Saxony-Anhalt and Armenia, the directions and perspectives of cooperation were discussed.

The event was unique. The special attention towards our country was also due to the fact that Armenia is perceived as a democratic state with rich cultural values.

Vladimir Vardanyan appreciated the deepening of relations with Saxony-Anhalt, based on the importance of strengthening historical, cultural and economic ties.

The sides confirmed that there is a need to develop, deepen and put the multi-vector relations between Armenia and the state of Saxony-Anhalt on a more practical basis. In this process, the tireless work of the RA Ambassador Viktor Yengibaryan in organizing the event and other areas was valued.
