RA Law On Urban Development is Modernized
1 / 4

“After the constitutional amendments and the approval of the Government's plan for 2021-2026, as well as the approval of urban development strategy, we have the need to adopt certain sub-legislative acts and implement certain decisions that were not previously designed by law. Since the law was adopted a long time ago, in connection with it, there was a need to define new authorizing norms or to clarify the existing ones in order to be able to better implement our measures and goals,” the RA Deputy Chair of Urban Development Committee Davit Grigoryan said, introducing the draft law on Addenda and Amendments to the Law on Urban Development for consideration in the first reading.

The NA Expertise and Analytical Department introduced proposals regarding the draft, according to which the regulations defined by the draft may be problematic from the viewpoint of the legitimacy and legal certainty of the Constitution.

The NA deputy of Armenia faction Tadevos Avetisyan proposed to postpone the debate on the issue and to eliminate the indicated problems. Responding to the deputy, the RA Deputy Chair of Urban Development Committee Davit Grigoryan said that the mentioned problems will be eliminated during the period from the first to the second reading.

The Committee endorsed the draft. The sitting was held on February 22.
