Armenia and the United Kingdom continuously develop spheres of cooperation

On May 23, the Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, the Deputy of the NA Civil Contract Faction Babken Tunyan, the deputy of the same Faction Meri Galstyan, the RA NA Chief of Staff, Secretary General Davit Arakelyan hosted the UK FCDO Minister for Europe Leo Docherty, the Private Secretary in FCDO Ollie Phelan and the Head of Eastern Neighbourhood Team Zak Henshaw-Keene.

The RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom of Great Britain Varuzhan Nersesyan attended the meeting.

The sides recorded the warm friendly ties between the two countries, highlighted the inter-parliamentary, as well as cooperation in security sphere.

Reference was made in the programme Strengthening of Energy Security of Armenia, ideas were exchanged over the reforms of energy market, issues of parliamentary and post-legislative oversight. An agreement was reached to study the spheres of possible collaboration for developing joint projects and solving the security problems in new ways.
