Babken Tunyan’s question to the Minister of High-Tech Industry: Why the support given from the public means is considered a trade secret?

During the NA-Government Q&A session, the deputy of the Civil Contract Faction Babken Tunyan noted that at the end of the last year, the Government provided support in the amount of 10 billion AMD to a number of the companies of the IT sector with the substantiation that those companies, which mainly work with foreign buyers, suffered from the dram evaluation. One of the media sent an inquiry to the Ministry High-Tech Industry, wishing to know which companies received that support and how much support each of them. An answer came that the information is a trade secret. Why is the support from the public means related to efficiency of spending the sums of the budget execution considered a trade secret?

“We have answered to all items of the received questions, except that item. We have written that we don’t have the consent regarding the disclosure of the data, as an opinion has been given by our professional subdivisions that it is possible that it contains trade secret,” the Minister of High-Tech Industry Robert Khachatryan said.
