A Governmental Committee was created to organize the funeral of the deputy of the Civil Contract Faction Vigen Khachatryan. According to the RA Prime Minister’s decision Nikol Pashinyan, it is presided over by the NA President Alen Simonyan.

It was decided at the Committee sitting that the repose of a soul ceremony of Vigen Khachatryan will take place on June 23, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the Zoler funeral hall.

The last farewell ceremony will take place from the same place on June 24 at 1:00 p.m., and the funeral will be held at the central (Tokhmakh) cemetery of Yerevan.

Vigen Khachatryan was born in 1951 on July 7 in Ijevan.

He graduated from the Faculty of Technical Cybernetics of YSI in 1973.

1990-1995 was a deputy of the RA Supreme Council. 1995-1999 - a member of the RA National Assembly, 1995-1997 – the Deputy Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, 1997-1998 – the Chairman of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly. 1998-1999 was a member of the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit, Budgetary and Economic Affairs .

On 20 June 2021, he was elected as the NA deputy on the nationwide electoral list of the Civil Contract party.

He was married, had two children and two grandchildren.
