Delegation led by Hakob Arshakyan meets with Head of Indonesian delegation at Inter-Parliamentary Union

The delegation led by the RA NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan met with the delegation led by the Head of the Indonesian delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union Fadli Zon within the framework of the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

At the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of relations with Indonesia. Hakob Arshakyan highly appreciated the bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation, which provides an excellent opportunity to develop a more active partnership with the countries of the region. In this context, the NA Vice President also highlighted the development of opportunities for cooperation in the field of educational technologies.

During the meeting, Hakob Arshakyan underlined the importance of cooperation within international organizations.

“As we know, in order to develop effective cooperation, this year the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia has become an observer of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, which will also open new horizons of cooperation in the ASEAN countries,” the NA Vice President emphasized.

The Head of the Indonesian delegation expressed his support to Armenia and noted that Armenia has a rich cultural heritage in Indonesia, including the Surb Gevorg Church in Surabaya.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to make mutual visits more frequent in order to develop relations.
