Large and small models of innovative municipal sectoral services have been tested in Armenia. In particular, the irrigation service was improved in Chambarak community, an extracurricular service was created in Areni community and a primary health care service was established in Berd community. In addition, seven more community services were transformed with the efforts of women, youth and local self-governing bodies.

All of this has become a reality with the cooperation of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia and the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) within the framework of the Women and Youth for Innovative Local Development project.

On December 19, during the National Conference on Municipal Sectoral Service Transformation and Local Self Government Reforms in the Republic of Armenia, the deputy of the RA NA Civil Contract Faction Zaruhi Batoyan got acquainted with all the programmes that not only improve services, increase the number of their beneficiaries, but also reduce community and state expenses and create a longer-term perspective for the balanced development of the regions.
