Parliament approves issues debated during regular sittings by voting

On January 16, the National Assembly continued the work of regular sittings and finished the second reading debate of the new regulations proposed in the law on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen and the Criminal Code presented by the deputy Hayk Sargsyan.

The proposed amendments to the law on Internal Audit were also debated in the second reading, which were detailed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) Artur Manukyan. It is designed that the Head of the Internal Audit Department and the internal auditors in state bodies and local self-government bodies are public servants. According to the law on Internal Audit, there is a restriction on appointing the Head of the Internal Audit Department: The person who has held the position of Head of the Department in the last two years cannot be appointed. It is proposed to shorten this period to one year.

Edgar Hakobyan presented the endorsement of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.

Artur Manukyan also presented to the Parliament the proposed amendments and addenda to the Tax Code and the law on Bankruptcy. Clarifying amendments were made during the period from the first to the second reading. The amendments made to the law on Bankruptcy mainly refer to the settlement of problems arising in legal practice.

Lilit Minasyan spoke about the endorsement of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.

With the proposed amendments to the Code on Administrative Offenses, it is proposed to repeal the article in the Code imposing administrative liability for delaying tax payment terms. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the SRC.

The conclusion of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs was positive: Hovik Aghazaryan informed.
