On February 28, the Parliament continued the work of the regular sittings and adopted the legislative initiatives debated on the previous day by voting.

“The adoption of the draft law is conditioned by the necessity to extend the established transition period regarding the licensing requirement for the production and service of the medical products,” the RA Deputy Minister of Health Arman Gasparyan said, presenting the draft law on Making Amendments to the Law on Medical Care and Service to the Population in the first reading.

“A transition period has been established by the current law, according to which the mentioned requirements will not be extended until January 1, 2024, until the date of entry into force of the same law (October 22, 2022) to the business entities engaged in the production or service of medical products in the RA,” the key rapporteur detailed. The draft proposes to postpone the mandatory requirement of licensing from January 1, 2024 to January 1, 2025 for those engaged in the production or service of medical products.

The co-rapporteur Hripsime Hunanyan presented the endorsement of the Standing (Head) Committee on Health Care calling on her colleagues to vote for the draft.
