On March 11, the delegation of the Friendship Group Armenia-Germany of the RA National Assembly met with the First Vice President of the Hamburg Parliament Mareike Engels within the framework of the visit to Hamburg.

At the core of the meeting was the dynamic development of the Armenian-German relations, in that context the deepening of the parliamentary cooperation and the importance of expansion not only at the federal level, but also at the level of regions. Reference was made to the perspectives of the development of the political and economic ties.

During the meeting at Mareike Engels’ request the humanitarian programmes implemented by the Government of the Republic of Armenia aimed at showing support to the persons forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh were presented.

The participants of the meeting underscored the necessity of the active involvement of the German-Armenian community in the public and social-cultural life of Hamburg.
