Priorities of foreign policy of Armenia, work being done on the international platforms, bilateral and multi-lateral relations, the regional security problems: The meeting of the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan and the students of the Student Scientific Society of YSU Faculty of International Relations was held within the framework of these themes.
Sargis Khandanyan detailed his approaches on foreign policy pursued by our country, spoke about the peculiarities of parliamentary diplomacy.
Touching upon the regional problems, the Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations presented the normalization proves of Armenia-Azerbaijan and Armenian- Türkiye relations and the security challenges. As the deputy assessed, the guarantee of security is the increasing of the resilience of our country, the political active work, the support of the partner states, the access to markets, the reforms of the armed forces. In this context, he highlighted the Crossroads of Peace Project and noted that a number of countries are interested in the perspective of its implementation.
Ideas were exchanged on expectations of the meeting of the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to be held in Brussels today. According to Sargis Khandanyan, the format of this meeting is unprecedented and is important in terms of the international role of Armenia.
Reference was made to the EU visa liberalization for the citizens of Armenia, the Armenian-Russian relations, the opening of the regional infrastructures, the demarcation and delimitation works, the steps to be taken in the context of bilateral and multi-lateral relations.
