Children of Zatik Orphanage Host the NA Speaker

On December 24 NA Speaker Mr Hovik Abrahamyan visited Zatik orphanage of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. The orphanage was founded in 1993. At that time there were only 4-5 children there. After 15 years there are 80 children of 4-18 age in that orphanage. Accompanied with the director of the establishment Mr Ashot Mnatsakanyan the NA Speaker was familiarized with the conditions of the orphanage. 80 staff members provide the children’s regular everyday life and create possible warm conditions for keeping them out of their psychological complexes. Different groups function in the orphanage. The children of the dancing group performed for the guests.

NA Speaker Mr Hovik Abrahamyan congratulated the children’s coming New Year and Christmas, wished them wonderful days and good future, happiness and health. Apart from giving presents the Parliament Speaker said that he was going to increase the 118m drams allocated to Zatik orphanage next year by the state budget in 10%. Mr Hovik Abrahamyan promised to visit more often the children of Zatik orphanage, and talking to the staff he expressed willingness to support in solving the problems. As a token of gratitude the children of the orphanage gave a present to the Speaker ‘Our Father’ knitted with golden threads on the carton.

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mr Arsen Hambardzumyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Social Affairs Mr Hakob Hakobyan and other officials were accompanying the Speaker.
