On September 1 Mr. James Macbeth Forbes, German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) Team Leader and Ms. Melanie Moltmann, Charge d’Affaires of the Federal Republic of Germany in Armenia visited the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs to dispose of computer equipment to the staff and the Committee deputies.

The Vice Speaker of the parliament Mr. Samvel Nikoyan greeted the representatives of the German Technical Cooperation and expressed his gratitude on behalf of the NA President and the National Assembly for the assistance. He noted that the projects signed in 2008 and carried out within the framework of collaboration memorandum with the parliament as well as all GTZ innovations were successful and effective. He expressed hope that the collaboration with the National Assembly would be of continuous character and said that the parliament would develop more the cooperation.

The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Mr. Gagik Minasyan also expressed his gratitude to the technical assistance and emphasized that the committee had an effective experience of joint work with German organization. As a good example of cooperation, he pointed out the acting law on the Control Chamber. There was no proposal on its improvement during two years of the law application despite wide area of the law regulation. Appreciating the character of the cooperation project promising, the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee suggested carrying out arrangements directed to the improvement of the professional abilities as well in the following stages.

During the talk, Ms. Melanie Moltmann emphasized the importance of the functions of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs , the budget control in particular, and expressed willingness to support its realization in a best way.
