On October 6, President of the National Assembly Mr. Hovik Abrahamyan received the representative of UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Office in Armenia Ms. Laylee Moshiri.
President of the National Assembly of Armenia highlighted the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding signed between the National Assembly and UNICEF on July 7 of 2009, which outlined the spheres of cooperation. Mr. Abrahamyan expressed willingness of the National Assembly to deepen the cooperation with that UN professional structure.
Afterwards the sides discussed the opportunities of organizing discussions in RA NA concerning children’s rights. Ms. Moshiri presented to Mr. Abrahamyan projects carried out by UNICEF in Armenia, particularly studies concerning children’s rights, as well as issues concerning pre-school education, children’s health and food.
