RA NA Speaker Receives the President of ARTOC Group Company

On February 3 RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan received the President of ARTOC Group Trans-National Investment Company Muhammed Shafik Gabri. During the meeting the parties discussed the investment and infra-structural programs being implemented in Armenia as well as possible prospects for further cooperation.

Welcoming the guest RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan highlighted the implementation of the investment programs by the company in Armenia, saying that Armenia’s parliament adopts such laws, which promote the economic development and implementation of investments programs. The NA Speaker, expressing willingness of support, highlighted putting the cooperation on more practical grounds and the continuation of investment programs.

In the word of the President of ARTOC Group Trans-National Investment Company Shafik Gabri, the company is interested in the implementation of the investments in Armenia and is programming to chooes concrete ways of cooperation after thorough study of opportunities existing in the country. The goal of the company is to essentially improve the quality of life through investments. Mr. Gabri noted that they were aiming at implementing the Smart Village town idea which they had successfully carried out in the Cairo suburbs in Yerevan too but in smaller scale: the program will involve those international organizations which want to cooperate with Armenia and Egypt. He also noted that in the nearest future he would again visit Armenia with more practical proposals.

During the meeting at the guest’s request H. Abrahamyan referred also to the process of ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols, which was signed in Zurich. Mr. Abrahamyan reiterated that the protocols should relate only to the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey and opening of the border. The RA NA Speaker said that the Armenian parliament would ratify the Armenian-Turkish protocols after its ratification by the Turkish parliament.

In the course of the meeting the parties also discussed Armenian-Egyptian friendly relations and issues concerning the further cooperation with ARTOC Group Company.
