On June 21 RA National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan received the Head of the World Bank Yerevan Office Aristomene Varoudakis on the occasion of the completion of his mission in Armenia.

RA National Assembly Speaker thanked for effective cooperation highly assessing A. Varoudakis’ activity in Armenia.

Head of the WB Yerevan Office considered the cooperation mutually beneficial, noting that it had still begun, when Hovik Abrahamyan had the post of Vice Prime Minister, the Minister of Territorial Administration, active and effective work had been done in particular, in the marzes over the program of the health care development.

The interlocutors touched upon the global financial-economic crisis and its influence on Armenia. Hovik Abrahamyan emphasized the support of the World Bank for the anti-crisis programs of Armenia. Aristomene Varoudakis recorded that Armenia’s economy was gradually restoring, though the main challenges were available.

At the meeting the sides also touched upon the regional problems.
