RA NA President Receives the Ambassador of Germany to Armenia

On November 16 RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Germany to RA Hans-Jochen Shchmidt.

Greeting the Ambassador RA NA President with satisfaction documented that the relations between the two countries in all directions were firmly developed and highly assessed the existing political, trade-economic and cultural cooperation, as well as the programmes being implemented in Armenia by the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ). The Armenian-German cooperation was also emphasized in the general context of Armenia’s Euro-integration policy. Hovik Abrahamyan gladly noted that the inter-parliamentary relations developed and highlighted the activation of cooperation of the parliaments of the two countries not only in the bilateral plane, but also in the multi-lateral format of cooperation, in particular, with the European Union. The NA President also expressed gratitude in connection with the Armenian-German trade-economic effective cooperation, noting that about 80 companies with the German capital functioned in Armenia, and highlighted the expansion of presenting the German business circles in Armenia, for which favourable field was created.

Expressing his gratitude for reception the Ambassador of Germany emphasized the further development of bilateral relations, the activation of inter-parliamentary cooperation. Mr Schmidt considered necessary the expansion of economic cooperation, too.

In the course of the meeting other issues of bilateral interest were discussed too.
