On May 26 in the city of Goris of RA Syunik Marz the second phase of the Children-Youth Republican Recitation Contest-Festival was held under the patronage of the NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan.

We’ll note that this time the contest-festival, which has become traditional, is dedicated to the 95th birth anniversary of the Armenian great poet Hovhannes Shiraz, and it has the goal to sow and strengthen love in children and youth to literature and poetry, educate patriotic generation.

We’ll note that 14500 boys and girls of 11-17 years old from 10 marzes of the republic have already taken part in the contest-festival, which began in March. 61 children from them will take part in the final phase to be held in Yerevan.

600 children from 65 schools of different communities of RA Syunik Marz took part in the first, preliminary phase, and from them 51 children received the right to take part in the second phase.

Karo Vardanyan, Candidate of the Philological Sciences, presented Hovhannes Shiraz’s glorious entrance to the literary arena, the features of poetry and the huge impact on the generations’ upbringing.

7 schoolchildren from 11-14 and 15-17 age groups overcame the second phase of the contest-festival of RA Syunik Marz, and they were awarded diplomas by the Marz Municipality.
