On March 6 the President of the FRG Bundestag Norbert Lammert and the members of the delegation led by him being in Yerevan on an official visit accompanied by the RA NA Vice President Hermine Naghdalyan visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex.
The high ranking guests laid a wreath at the Armenian Genocide Monument, honored the memory of one and a half million innocent victims with a minute of silence . .
The delegation led by the President of the FRG Bundestag had been in the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, got acquainted with documents assuring the Armenian Genocide.
Norbert Lammert left a note in the Commemoration Book of Honorable Guests: “While paying tribute to the memory of the victims, the present generation should consider as its most important responsibility the use of the past experience in building the future”.
During the talk with the journalists the President of the FRG Bundestag has noted that there are also such places in Germany and in many countries of the world, and has said: “They are the consequence of the events, which should not take place. In 2005 the Bundestag made a decision in connection with 1915 events. We have done it taking into account our past, without any assessment, we have made that decision together, with a conscience that the self-critical attitude is the important precondition of our own history, which should help to make such decisions for universal good future.”
