On March 21 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India to the RA Suresh Babu.
Congratulating the Ambassador on assuming the post the NA president expressed conviction that during the years of his tenure the friendly relations between the two countries will be reinforced, deepened and considerable achievements will be recorded in inner-state, as well as inter-parliamentary relations. Hovik Abrahamyan underlined the necessity of activating and developing the inter-parliamentary relations of the two countries, highlighting the mutual contacts, and the elaboration and implementation of concrete programmes. The NA president expressed readiness to support the development of the Armenian-Indian cooperation in the spheres of bilateral importance. The Head of the parliament deemed important the cooperation in the spheres of information technologies, tourism, health care, agriculture, culture and education.
Thanking for the reception the Ambassador of India to Armenia Suresh Babu noted that he would make efforts to develop the Armenian-Indian warm and friendly relations in different directions. Both sides emphasized the necessity of developing and deepening the inter-parliamentary relations and the cooperation in international structures. The Ambassador deemed necessary the activation of trade-economic relations.
In the course of the meeting they also discussed other issues.
