On April 4 the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs moderated by Elinar Vardanyan debated and admitted as granted the report “On the Activity of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia and Violation of the Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms During 2012” made by the RA Deputy Human Rights Defender Genya Petrosyan.

The Human Rights Defender has presented about 60 legislative recommendations, which mainly have been passed by the authors of the draft laws.

On the same day the RA NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs moderated by Hakob Hakobyan debated the draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Accumulative Pensions,” which submitted the Deputy Finance Minister Vardan Aramyan.

The Committee endorsed the draft law to include it in the agendas of the NA third session and April 8-11 four-day sittings.

At the authors’ proposal the Committee postponed by one year the debate of the draft law “On Support of Big Families and State Encouragement of Big Families’ Mothers.”

Then the Committee in the second reading debated the draft laws “On Amending the RA Law on Patriotic War Veterans,” “On Amending the RA Labor Code,” On Amending the RA Law on State Pensions,” which presented the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan.

The Committee endorsed the draft laws presented in the second reading to include them in the NA April 8-11 four-day sittings.
