On May 22 the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport of the National Assembly Artak Davtyan met with the pupils from Yerevan and Armavir schools involved in the program “The Youth Involved in the Society” Jinishian Memorial Foundation.

In the course of the meeting the schoolchildren got acquainted with the main legislative and control functions of the parliament. They were informed about the works of the standing specialized committees. Artak Davtyan also introduced them the background of the choice of the deputies’ number, saying that the number 131 symbolizes the 131^st Catholicos, who was leading the Armenian Apostolic Church in 1995 while accepting the Constitution.

During the talk with the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee the schoolchildren touched upon a number of problems concerning the educational system.
