Parliamentary Hearings are Held

On March 6 in the National Assembly the parliamentary hearings initiated by the NA Standing Committee on Agriculture and Environment on the theme “Events of Preparation of Agricultural Works and Fighting against South American Moth in Ararat and Armavir Marz” were held.

Welcoming those present the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan noted that after visiting the marzes for following the preparation of agricultural works it was decided to organize parliamentary hearings and invite relevant members of the government, heads of the marz and the communities for solving the issues concerning the villages.

The RA Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan in his report noted that from 2011 the RA President had announced the sphere of agriculture prior. The Minister presented the main directions of the sphere and the upcoming programmes.

Touching upon the deployment of the anti-hailing stations the Minister of the Emergency Situations Armen Yeritzyan noted that 168 countries of the world had signed a treaty on having a Crisis Administration Centre, as a result of which, every marz of Armenia also would have its Centre.

The Deputy Chairman of the RA State Committee of Water Economy Gagik Khachatryan presented the work done by the Committee on defining privileges of the irrigating water payment to the communities suffered because of 2013 hail.

Thanking the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan for the works undertaken in elimination of consequences of 2013 hail, the Head of Armavir Marz Ashot Ghahramanyan introduced the organization of agricultural works and the preparation events of spring sowing.

Summing up the parliamentary hearings the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan has noted that, as a result of discussions, it has been found out that the situation of the agricultural economies is not bad: there is a problem of realization of the crop, the problem of the irrigation water payment of this year of the communities suffered because of hail, which can be solved. According to the NA President, the agriculture is important for our country and we should help the villager. The NA President has mentioned that the NA Standing Committee on Agriculture and Environment, the deputies shall continue to visit the rural communities and be consistent for their promises. He noted that his visits to the rural communities would also be of continuous character and promised to present the situation to the RA President.
