On March 27 within the framework of the Open Doors Programme of the National Assembly a group of teachers and pupils of Yerevan Ararat Gharibyan Senior School N 142 visited the parliament.
The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Youth and Sport Artak Davtyan conducted the open lesson, who presented the pupils the structure, the legislative and representation activities of the parliament. He told them about unicameral and bicameral parliaments, the proportional and majoritarian electoral systems, the authorities of the RA National Assembly and the activities of the NA Standing Committees.
Artak Davtyan gladly answered the questions concerning the pupils, which related to the investment of the credit system in the general educational school, the questionnaire of the Armenian Language entrance exams to the higher educational institutions, the specialized colleges and the specialties having a demand in the labour market.
The schoolchildren of the senior school were also interested in the world political recent developments and the problems connected with the Syrian Armenians.
At the end of the meeting in the NA Session Hall the pupils had their photos taken with the NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan and talked to him, who was interested in their impression from the visit and the open lesson.
The NA Speaker advised the children to keep and enliven the contact with the National Assembly, inviting them again to the parliament.
