Artak Zakaryan Delivers a Speech at the Discussion of the Draft Resolution on the Russian Military Aggression against Ukraine
1 / 1

“Dear Colleagues,

Recent events in Ukraine and the existing extreme tension resulted in complex and dangerous realities and the quick solution of them is of interest to all us.

In the conditions of the resulted vacuum, the international community should do everything not to allow the addition of new conflicts to the old and unsolved ones and to reduce the escalation of tense atmosphere in international relations.

We have repeatedly stated our concerns on events taking place in Ukraine. The existing situation in the international relations and the violence in Ukraine directly concern us, as more than half a million Armenians live in Ukraine and the quick solution of the issues is a priority for us.

As we have noted many times, we are for the peaceful solution of each conflict. Every conflict must be resolved peacefully, in the context of a broad and open dialogue, as well as on the basis of negotiations, the UN charter and norms of international law, and particularly, in Ukraine case also on the basis of Minsk agreements.

In the context of the situation in Ukraine which has led to international tensions, there must work the cooperation aimed to establish peace and stability.

Our delegation in this stage is not unanimous concerning the resolution presented on Ukraine. We are going to vote based on our beliefs, as a priority considering our vision of solving the conflicts exclusively in peaceful ways.”
