Meeting in the National Assembly
1 / 1

On April 28 Artak Davtyan, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, the Head of the NA Armenia-Germany Friendship Group met with Manfred Grund and Volkmar Vogel, the deputies of Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Welcoming his German colleagues’ visit to the parliament, Artak Davtyan highlighted the participation of the citizens and the political figures of Germany in the process of the international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide. Touching upon the events of the Genocide Centennial and the response of the international community, Mr Davtyan has noted that an important change took place in that direction, and the process of the recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide had turned into a new phase.

Manfred Grund has noted that the Armenian-German relations are actively developing, and besides Germany-South Caucasus Friendship Group in Bundestag, there is a wish also to set up Germany-Armenia Friendship Group. A certain work is already being done in Bundestag for creating a Friendship Group: the legal documents are compiled.

In the course of the meeting issues regarding Armenia’s accession to the EEU and the regional security, as well as the development of Armenia-EU relations were discussed.
