On July 8 the RA NA President Galust Sahakyan received Eiji Taguchi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the RA.

The NA President congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador on the occasion of launching diplomatic mission in Armenia. Talking about bilateral ties, Galust Sahakyan has expressed hope that the opening of the Embassy of Japan in Armenia will boost the development of cooperation of the two countries and the implementation of the joint initiating programmes. Highly assessing the Armenian-Japanese relations the NA President has noted that they are based on friendship and mutual trust. He has underlined that the friendly relations have more enlivened especially after the RA President’s visit to Japan. Galust Sahakyan has emphasized the contacts and the mutual visits of the Friendship Groups functioning in the parliaments of the two countries, which promote the deepening of relations and cooperation.

Thanking for the reception, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan Eiji Taguchi has noted that he is ready to support the more deepening and strengthening of bilateral relations.

In the course of the meeting other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed.
