On March 4, in the Ararat Hall of the Armenia Marriott Hotel the NA Standing Committees on Healthcare, Maternity and Childhood and the NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs organized parliamentary hearings on the theme On Approving the National Programme of Improving the RA Demographic Situation for 2016-2018 and the Programme of Events Providing its Implementation, where the NA deputies, the Ministries of the RA Healthcare, the RA Labor and Social Affairs, the representatives from the UN in Armenia and a number of the NGOs took part.
The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Healthcare, Maternity and Childhood Ara Babloyan, the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs Hakob Hakobyan have noted that the goal of the programme is the decrease of the demographic negative consequences and the creation of the necessary preconditions for the improvement of the situation due to the comprehensive evaluation of the demographic situation and the purposeful events being underway.
The RA Minister of Healthcare Armen Muradyan, the RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan, the Assistant Representative of the UN Population Fund (UNPF) Armenia Garik Hayrapetyan, Head of Maternity and Reproductive Health Protection Unit of the Ministry of Healthcare Gayane Avagyan, and the Head of the Demographic Division of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs Vanik Babajanyan expressed viewpoints on the theme referring to different problems.
The attendees addressed numerous questions to the speakers relating to the healthcare and social spheres.
Summing up the parliamentary hearings, those responsible for the sphere touched upon the sounded issues and noted that in case of proposals the programme will be once again debated.
