On May 17, the Head of the RA NA Armenia-Germany Friendship Group Artak Davtyan met with the Member of the Left Party of the Bundestag of Germany Ulla Jelpke, the Member of Hamburg Parliament Martin Dolzer and the Representative of Altona Community Hasan Burgucuoglu.

Welcoming the MPs' visit to Armenia Artak Davtyan touched upon the two prior problems of Armenia's foreign policy: the problem of Armenian Genocide international recognition and condemnation and the developments over the Karabakh conflict.

In this context Artak Davtyan highlighted the debate of the Resolution on the Armenian Genocide recognition and condemnation to be expected in June in the Bundestag.

The German MPs emphasized the solution of Nagorno Karabakh problem exclusively through peaceful means and negotiations.

In the course of the meeting the sides also touched upon the relations between Germany and Turkey and Turkey’s pursued policy in the region.

The member of the delegation, Turk by his origin Hasan Burgucuoglu has expressed hope that time will come when Turkey will recognize the Armenian Genocide, which in future will exclude the repetition of genocides.
