Meeting at the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations

On June 3, the Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and the Deputy Chairman Alexander Arzumanyan, the members of the Committee Shirak Torosyan and Karen Bekaryan received the RA newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Mexican States Ara Aivazian.

Congratulating the Ambassador on the occasion of his appointment in the name of the Committee Artak Zakaryan expressed conviction that during his tenure the Ambassador will have his practical contribution to the development of the Armenian-Mexican relations.

In the course of the meeting the development of the inter-parliamentary relations and the boosting of more active coordinated dialogue at international platforms was highlighted.

Artak Zakaryan has noted that there are working relations in the bilateral format with the Parliament of the United Mexican States, which are not yet fully realized and have big potential of development.

The possibilities directed to the expansion and rapprochement of the relations between the parliaments of the two states was also emphasized. The necessity of the activation of the cooperation in political, economic, scientific and cultural spheres was also noted.

The Committee members expressed hope that in his activities the Ambassador will support more activation of the inter-parliamentary relations, as well as the development of the relations of the RA NA Committee with the partner Committees of the Parliament of the United Mexican States, moreover that a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation and Dialogue was signed between the Standing Committees on Foreign Relations of the Senate of the United Mexican States and the RA National Assembly in Yerevan in 2015.
