The President of the RA National Assembly Galust Sahakyan addressed Condolence Letter on the occasion of the death of the poet, RA Honoured Figure of Culture Davit Hovhannes (Davit Hovhannisyan).

“I had deep pain, learning about the death of the talented poet Davit Hovhannes.

Davit Hovhannes was one of the impressive and colourful figures of our modern literature and Armenian contemporary poetry, who had his unique way of writing and interesting language. By his freedom of thinking and art of writing he could reach the readers and incite them to ponder and contemplate.

Davit Hovhannes’ poetry was not only a writer’s, but also of an anxious citizen’s honest and unconstrained word, in constant demand of its content and inner depth. He was like that as a deputy of the second convocation of the RA National Assembly during his activities in the legislative body.

At this grave moment of loss I extend my sincere condolences and words of comfort to the family, close relatives and pen pals,” the NA President’s Condolence Letter reads.
