On October 5, the RA NA deputy Vahan Babayan met with the scientists being involved with the problems of solar energy.

During the meeting the possibilities of the implementation of appropriate programmes in Armenia in the sphere of solar energy were debated.

In the scientists’ opinion, Armenia has a rather rich solar resource, and the development of solar technologies has no alternative in our country, which can be the most serious stimulus of the economy development. Among other recommendations the scientists also voiced a recommendation for the construction of the factories working with solar energy.

At the end of the meeting Vahan Babayan proposed the scientists to create a working group, present competitive programme and organize a forum concerning the perspectives of the solar energy development. He expressed readiness to raise the problem within the limits of possibility, as well as to organize a meeting between the RA Prime Minister and the scientists in the future.
