On November 24, the RA NA Deputy Speaker, the Head of the RA NA Delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO PA) Eduard Sharmazanov took part in the CSTO PA sitting. During the sitting the RA NA Deputy Speaker presented his viewpoint on Azerbaijan’s condemnable policy.

Eduard Sharmazanov particularly said:

“Dear colleagues, the problems of the collective security, as well as the fight against xenophobia and terrorism are one of our unique political agenda items. I consider noting that during the period between the CSTO PA Spring and Autumn sittings Azerbaijan, grossly violating the ceasefire of 1994, despising the statements made by the Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries, in April initiated terror actions towards freedom longing Nagorno Karabakh people, trying to reach success through military means. The actions of their military force were accompanied by special cruelty. The criminal actions of the Azerbaijani military force simply reminded the terrorist handwriting of the Islamic State. Unfortunately, no representative of this Assembly condemned Azerbaijan for those criminal actions.

Dear colleagues, it’s time to learn lessons from history. The failure to condemn such terrorist and anti-human actions may result in new tragedies. The security of Artsakh population is beyond everything. All efforts of solving the problems through military means are doomed to failure.”
