On May 29, the RA NA President Ara Babloyan received the members of the delegation led by Sergio Nahapetian, Head of the Central Board of Ramkavar Liberal Party (RLP).

Ara Babolyan welcomed the members of the RLP delegation in the RA National Assembly and introduced his colleagues Eduard Sharmazanov and Vahram Baghdasaryan.

The RA NA President has noted that the initiatives and programmes implemented in Armenia and Diaspora by the RLP are of undeniable significance in the preservation of Armenian identity. In the RA NA President’s word, the RLP has always been connected with its people and the Motherland during over ninety-five years’ activities.

Ara Babloyan noted: “In Armenia, the activities of the RLP in different countries are highly appreciated. The approaches that you apply are very appraisable: everybody’s goal should be the preservation of Armenian identity and the development of Armenia.”

Touching upon the situation in the region and the Syrian Armenians, who have found asylum in the Motherland, the RA NA President has noted that they have brought new breath, new culture to Armenia; and every Armenian is sure that coming to the Motherland, will feel secure and safe, as today our country is exemplary in terms of state building and democracy.

Ara Babloyan has documented that different processes take place in Armenia and in Azerbaijan: “Having before our eyes the danger of restart of war, we create a state going on through democracy unlike Azerbaijan.” In this context, talking about the Nagorno Karabakh issue, the RA NA President has noted that the problem not only relates to the territories, but also protection of the right to human free and independent living.

Ara Babloyan highlighted the role of the traditional parties in being united around the national interest: the goal of all the Armenians should be the advancement and prosperity of Armenia.

The Head of the RLP Central Board, the founder of Sardarapat weekly of Argentina Sergio Nahapetian, thanking for the reception, introduced the members of the delegation Levon Blkhian (Syria), Hrayr Hovivian (Lebanon), Jeni Grigorian (Syria), Hayk Lepejian (Australia) and Alexan Karadanian (Syria).

Sergio Nahapetian presented to the RA NA President the approaches of their party on different issues and the ways of the development of Armenia-Diaspora cooperation.

Emphasizing the role of the preservation of Armenian identity in the Diaspora, Sergio Nahapetian noted that all the parties functioning abroad should unite their efforts for the benefit of the development of the Motherland and the preservation of the Artsakh security.
