On July 6, the RA NA Deputy Speaker, the Head of the RA NA Armenia-Great Britain Friendship Group Arpine Hovhannissyan received Judith Farnworth, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Armenia.
Welcoming the guest, Arpine Hovhannisyan has underlined that Armenia highlights the deepening of cooperation with the United Kingdom in bilateral and multilateral formats. In the context of the development and expansion of Armenian-British inter-state relations the RA NA Deputy Speaker evaluated the role of the parliamentary diplomacy and highly assessed the effective cooperation formed between the parliaments of the two countries. In that context Arpine Hovhannisyan considered necessary the activation of the contacts between the parliamentary Friendship Groups and the exchange of experience.
In the course of the meeting the sides touched upon the favourable cooperation existing with the Embassy of the United Kingdom. Arpine Hovhannisyan emphasized the initiatives being implemented in Armenia, and especially referred to the efficiency of the project for the RA National Assembly capacity-building.
Both sides also discussed other issues of bilateral interest.
