Naira Zohrabyan Meets with Head of EU Delegation to Armenia

On July 10, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on European Integration Naira Zohrabyan met with Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Armenia.

In the course of the meeting the sides discussed issues concerning the parliament after signing of Memorandum of the RA-EU Universal and Enhanced Cooperation, particularly, the working road map of the RA NA Standing Committee on European Integration. Naira Zohrabyan has noted that the Committee envisages working meetings with the NGOs being involved in European integration to discuss together the upcoming works, and their goal is to elaborate amendments directed to service of the RA-EU agenda in numerous laws.

The interlocutors also touched upon the activities of the anti-corruption body to be created in the future, discussed the issues of the parliamentary opposition control towards that structure. The sides also referred to the document of the Partnership’s priorities prepared by the European Union, which indicates the priorities of the upcoming years for Armenia.

In the deepening of the RA-EU the Ambassador underlined Naira Zohrabyan’s personal involvement and in the context of continuing the RA-EU agenda highlighted Mrs Zohrabyan’s re-election in the post of the Committee Chair.

During the meeting both sides also discussed the issue of implementing united programmes directed to compliance of the European standards with the RA NA Standing Committee on European Integration in the spheres of the protection of human rights, corruption, criminal-procedure system, justice and education.
