The official visit of the delegation led by the RA NA Speaker Ara Babloyan to the Russian Federation continues. On July 17, the Speaker of the RF FA Federal Council Valentina Matvienko received the delegation. Let us note that the delegation comprises of the RA NA deputies Armen Ashotyan, Vahram Baghdasaryan, Nikol Pashinyan, Armen Rustamyan, Vahe Enfiajyan, Artashes Geghamyan and Hermine Naghdalyan.

Welcoming the guests, the Speaker of the RF FA Federal Council has underlined that the Federal Council of Russia highly assesses the level of development of relations with Armenia and the political dialogue being pursued by the heads of the two countries. In Mrs Matvienko’s word the frequent meetings of the two countries allow solving concrete problems, and as a result of close cooperation of two states new principles of inter-parliamentary cooperation are also elaborated.

“Armenia has been and confidently will continue remaining Russia’s strategic partner and we build firm cooperation with it. In this respect, Russia is the reliable partner of Armenia,” Valentina Matvienko underlined.

Mrs Matvienko highlighted the maintenance of the current level of cooperation between the parliamentarians of Russia and Armenia on the inter-parliamentary platforms.

The RA NA Speaker Ara Babloyan highly assessed the traditional warm and friendly ties between Armenia and Russia. The Head of the RA Parliament has underscored that Armenia and Russia mark the 25^th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations and during these years the two countries have reached to a new qualitative level of ally partnership.

“In this respect I would like to stress that with our active participation the cooperation in the trade-economic, energy, transport and other spheres expands in the Eurasian integration process,” Ara Babloyan documented.

The sides discussed issues concerning the inter-parliamentary treaties, inter-state and inter-governmental agreements, as well as the inter-parliamentary cooperation.
