On September 12, in Yerevan Railway Station the President of the RA National Assembly Ara Babloyan attended the reception dedicated to the National Day of Switzerland, during which the opening of the exhibition Hexagons, Circles and Trapeza by the Swiss Artist Felice Varini took place.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Lukas Gasser, the RA Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Vahan Martirosyan, the RA NA deputies, cultural and political figures and Ambassadors attended the reception.
Touching upon the Armenian-Swiss relations, the President of the RA National Assembly Ara Babloyan noted that the history met the two peoples not by chance: the Armenians and the Swiss are the bearers of the same spiritual and cultural value of systems. As Armenia will mark the 26th anniversary of Independence, so Switzerland will mark its 726th anniversary, and continue getting strength from the feeling of freedom and their powerful will of overcoming the difficulties.
The Head of the parliament highlighted the cooperation with Switzerland both as a doctor and as a Head of Armenia-Switzerland Parliamentary Friendship Group. He detailed that during about three-decade continuing cooperation different, including also health programmes were carried out, due to which numerous lives were saved.
In his speech the artist Felice Varini particularly noted: “Indeed, it is very pleasant for me to share my joy with you. I have not implemented the work on my own, a whole team helped me to call it into life,” Mr Varini said, thanking for support the Embassy of Switzerland to Armenia.
