Gagik Minasyan and Aghvan Vardanyan Take Part in Sittings of PABSEC Committees

On October 25-27, in Rostov-on-Don (Russian Federation) the Fiftieth Meeting of the Legal and Political Affairs Committee and the Forty-Ninth Meeting of the Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) were held, and the Head of the RA NA delegation to the PABSEC Gagik Minasyan and the member of the delegation Aghvan Vardanyan took part in the works.

Delivering a speech, Gagik Minasyan highlighted the theme The 25 Years of the PABSEC: Enhancement of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation in the Region being discussed at the Fiftieth Meeting of the Legal and Political Affairs Committee and presented the viewpoint of the Armenian side, according to which, the best format of regulating the relations between the BSEC and the PABSEC is already available, and there is no need to set out it through declaration. Mr Minasyan also presented the recommendations of the Armenian side on making more effective the inter-parliamentary cooperation. Mr Minasyan also particularly the main idea of the creation of the PABSEC and its priority is the strengthening of economic cooperation between the BSEC Member States. He has reaffirmed the faithfulness of the Armenian side to this idea and confirmed that it is necessary to keep the economic character of the organization for the effective implementation of the PABSEC goals, by avoiding the more extremely politicization. In his speech Mr Minasyan has expressed conviction that the deepening of economic cooperation and the enhancement of economic integration are the most important factors for the solution of social problems, welfare, prosperity, stability and strengthening of peace and security in the Black Sea Region. “The development of economic cooperation is an effective means for the mutual trust, constructive dialogue and the solution of the existing conflicts,” he said.

Mr Minasyan strictly criticized the economic blockade of the BSEC Member State contradicting the BSEC main principles, by any BSEC any member state.

At the Forty-Ninth Meeting of the PABSEC Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee the theme Social Protection and Benefits for the Young Families in the BSEC Member States was discussed, during which the Committee member Aghvan Vardanyan delivered a speech. The speech included the answers of the following questions: the existing national legislation on the social protection and benefits for the families and children, the initiatives being implemented by the governments at national level and the current mechanisms, the international legal tools concerning the sphere and the experience, as well as proposals for effective cooperation in the social policy sphere in the BSEC Region.
