Eduard Sharmazanov to Moldovan Parliamentarians: Artsakh Problem Has No Military Solution
1 / 3

On March 12, the RA NA Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov received the Vice President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Vitiuc and the Chair of the Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration of the parliament Violeta Ivanov and the persons accompanying them.

The sides highlighted the development of the Armenian-Moldovan inter-parliamentary relations and the activation of mutual visits. The NA Vice President noted that starting from mid-14th century the Armenian community had had a serious role in Moldova. He highly assessed the caring attitude of the Moldovan authorities towards the Armenian community.

During the meeting the interlocutors touched upon the prior directions of the foreign policy of the two countries and mutually beneficial cooperation. “Armenia is the only EEU member country that has signed a cooperation agreement with the EU. There is a good opportunity to serve as a bridge between the EEU and the EU,” the RA NA Vice President said.

The sides touched upon the regional frozen conflicts.

Eduard Sharmazanov noted: “Artsakh problem has no military solution. No war solves any problems,” and added that they should be settled through compromises based on the international three fundamental principles. In this context Sharmazanov underlined the impermissibility of the Azerbaijani and Turkish bellicose rhetoric.

The guests thanked the RA NA President for the opportunity of visiting Armenia and also highlighted the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation on different platforms. The Moldovan parliamentarians presented the cooperation of Moldova with the European Union and the phases of harmonisation with legislation.
