On May 19, on the day of remembrance of the Pontian Greek Genocide victims, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov, the RA NA Members, representatives of the Embassy of the Hellenic Republic to Armenia, the Greek community of Armenia and clergymen visited Tsitsernakaberd.

They laid a wreath and flowers at the eternal fire and honoured in silence the memory of the innocent victims of the genocide committed towards Pontian Greeks by Ottoman Turkey in 1915-1923.

His Eminence Archbishop Yeznik Petrosyan raised his prayers for the repose of souls of the innocent victims.

Condemning the crime organized by Ottoman Turkey at the beginning of the 20^th century, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov noted that the Pontian Greek Genocide was the logical continuation of the Armenian Genocide.
