Visit of the RA NA Speaker Ara Babloyan to the Russian Federation continues. On June 4, the RA NA Speaker met with the Speaker of the State Duma of the RF Federal Assembly Vyacheslav Volodin.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception the RA NA Speaker expressed conviction that the meeting would promote the further development of the Armenian-Russian inter-parliamentary relations for the benefit of our countries and peoples. In this context, touching upon the RA inner-political situation, Ara Babloyan underlined that the response of Russia to the inner-political processes of Armenia fully corresponded with the spirit of the Armenian-Russian relations. To his conviction, the bilateral cooperation would continue to develop in the atmosphere of partnership and trust and the parliaments will continue their constructive work.

The Head of the RA parliament has underscored that the RA National Assembly supports the steps taken to the strengthening of the role of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. With regards to this, Ara Babloyan emphasized the holding of the CSTO PA Council and Plenary Session in Yerevan on October 29-30, 2018.

The Speaker of the RA National Assembly has highly assessed the cooperation in the international parliamentary structures, underscoring that there is visible progress in this direction.

The sides also touched upon the issues relating to the holding of the next sitting of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the RA National Assembly and the RF Federal Assembly.

Vyacheslav Volodin has stressed with satisfaction that the parliaments of the two countries effectively cooperate in the atmosphere of mutual trust. He attached importance to the rapprochement of cooperation between Russia and Armenia in different spheres, underscoring in this issue the further enlivening of the practical steps.
