By the decision of the RA NA Speaker, under Article 100 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and Article 41 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Armenia the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, on the initiative of the deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on September 10 immediately after the end of the regular sittings of the National Assembly an extraordinary sitting of the National Assembly began its work, having on the agenda the draft decision of the National Assembly on Establishing the quantity of the members of the Investigative Committee for the study of the item on impeding the execution of justice, the law of fair judicial examination and facts of violating the secrecy of telephone conversations.
The Initiating Group member of the Committee Gevorg Kostanyan presented the draft decision. The NA Deputy Speakers Eduard Sharmazanov, Arpine Hovhannisyan, the MPs Alen Simonyan, Edmon Marukyan, Rustam Makhmudyan, Armen Ashotyan, Samvel Farmanyan, Hovik Aghazaryan and Vahe Enfiajyan expressed their opinions on the draft decision.
Edmon Marukyan presented the viewpoint of the Yelq/Way Out faction, and Arpine Hovhannisyan presented the viewpoint of the RPA faction.
In his final speech Gagik Kostanyan considered admissible Arpine Hovhannisyan’s proposal.
Adopting the decision the parliament ended the work of the extraordinary sitting.
