RA NA President Ara Babloyan Receives Member of European Parliament Eleni Theocharous

The RA NA President Ara Babloyan is in the Artsakh Republic on a working visit.

On September 28, Ara Babloyan received the Member of the European Parliament Eleni Theocharous and Members of the Parliament of Cyprus Giorgos Perdikis and Giorgallas Michalis. The Head of the ARF Europe Hai Dat/Armenian Cause Committee Gaspar Karapetian initiated the visit to Artsakh.

Ara Babloyan highly assessed Eleni Theocharous’ personal efforts and consistent activities directed to the expansion of the RA-EU relations, raising the issues related to Armenia in the European Parliament and the protection of the Armenian people’s rights. He especially highlighted the MP’s frequent visits to Artskah.

Speaking about the cooperation on the international platforms, the RA NA President has underlined that the Armenian delegation always supported the Cypriot side in the issues of key importance for Cyprus and documented with satisfaction that work style is mutual.

The inner-political developments of Armenia were also touched upon. According to the Head of the RA Parliament, the events of the recent period held in our country serve as bright evidence of the events that the democracy is on firm bases. The Head of the parliament has underlined that the democracy is of key importance for Armenia, and urges his colleagues to support the RA new government democracy in all international meetings to further develop of democracy.

Eleni Theocharous has expressed conviction that Cyprus always at the side of Armenia and the Armenian people, noting: We admire your achievements, the fighting for freedom and self-determination. ” The MP underlined that she would continue to support the initiatives concerning Artsakh and be the propagator of strengthening of the Armenian-Cypriot relations. Speaking about the recent events in Armenia, Eleni Theocharous said: “We admire your people's wisdom.”
