Parliament Convenes Extraordinary Sitting

On October 5, the RA National Assembly convened an extraordinary sitting on the initiative of the RA Government under the Article 100 of the RA Constitution and the Article 41 of the RA Constitutional Law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, and the bill on Making Addendum to the RA Law on the RA Holidays and Memorial Days was included in the agenda.

The parliament debated and approved the draft law in the first reading and the draft decision on the special procedure of debating in the second reading, according to which the debate of the draft law will be held during 24 hours after being passed in the first reading.

The RA Deputy Foreign Minister Ruben Rubinyan has informed that it is proposed to move the working days relating to the events of unique importance for the state to make addendum to the Article 19 of the RA Law on on the RA Holidays and Memorial Days and reserve right to the government by that.

Let us note that the necessity of amending the law has emerged conditioned by the 17th Summit of La Francophonie to be held on October 11-12.

The bill was passed in the first reading in the morning sitting.
