On October 22, under Article 100 of the Constitution the RA National Assembly and Article 41 of the Constitutional Law the NA Rules of Procedure, on the initiative of the Government convened an extraordinary sitting. The package of bills on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Constitutional Law the RA Electoral Code, on Amending the RA Constitutional Law on Referendum , on Making Addenda to the RA Code on Administrative Infringements and on Making Addenda to the Defence was included in the agenda.

Before the approval of the approval the RA NA Speaker informed that by the decision of the CEC the Candidate of the RPA national electoral list.

The RA Acting Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan, presenting the package of the bills noted that, as a result of the debates, a number of addenda and amendments were made in the package of debates held at the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs and Protection of Human Rights.

Presenting the endorsement, the Committee Deputy Chair Rustam Makhmudyan noted that the legislative package was debated exclusively in the legal-professional context, a series of proposals were presented and interpellations were voiced.

The RA NA deputies Aram Sargsyan, Tigran Urikhanyan, Naira Zohrabyan, Gevorg Petrosyan, Armenuhi Kyureghyan, the Deputy Speaker Mikayel Melkumyan, Gevorg Gorgisyan, Armen Ashotyan, Khosrov Harutyunyan, Lena Nazaryan, Sasun Mikayelyan, Hovik Aghazaryan, Hayk Konjoryan, Ararat Zurabyan, Vahe Enfiajyan, Edmon Marukyan, Sergey Bagratyan, Hrachya Hakobyan and the RA NA Factions (the ARF Armen Rustamyan, the Yelq/Way out Alen Simonyan, Tsarukyan – Naira Zohrabyan, RPA – Vahram Baghdasaryan) expressed their positions on the legislative package.

In his final speech RA Acting Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan touched upon the deputies’ observations and recommendations and gave clarifications.

As a result of voting, the package of drafts was not adopted. It received 56 for and 3 against votes.

Covering the agenda the RA National Assembly ended the work of the extraordinary sitting.
